Dubai to Host Fourth Edition of 1 Billion Followers Summit with Global Initiatives and $1 Million AI Film Prize: The 1 Billion Followers Summit, recognized as the world’s largest gathering for the creator economy, has announced its highly anticipated fourth edition. Scheduled from January 9 to 11, 2026, the event will span iconic venues including Jumeirah Emirates Towers, Dubai International Financial Centre, and the Museum of the Future, under the inspiring theme “Content for Good.”

Organized by the UAE Government Media Office, this summit is set to drive the next wave of innovation in digital media. Its agenda promises global initiatives, interactive debates, and visionary sessions featuring speakers who collectively command a staggering 3 billion followers worldwide.
One of the most groundbreaking announcements is the launch of the world’s largest AI film prize, valued at USD 1 million. In partnership with Google Gemini, this initiative will honor creativity at the intersection of technology and storytelling. The competition will showcase the top 10 AI-generated films, with a special award recognizing the most impactful creation that blends innovation with purpose.
Preparatory sessions leading up to the summit brought together CEOs of leading social media platforms, global content strategists, and star creators. Key discussions revolved around storytelling strategies, combating misinformation, monetization models, intellectual property protection, and AI integration in content creation. These conversations reflect the urgency of adapting to an evolving digital landscape where authenticity, trust, and technology converge.
His Excellency Mohammad Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, emphasized the UAE’s pioneering role:
“The content economy is an economic power with limitless horizons. The UAE is not only keeping pace but also charting new directions within this economy.”
Further fueling this ambition, the summit will launch the Creators Ventures Program, allocating AED 50 million to fund innovative projects and accelerator programs. Another major highlight will be the Content Creation Companies Pavilion, debuting with 100 SMEs and startups that will gain exposure, forge partnerships, and secure new deals.
The summit also announced its five global ambassadors—Simon Squibb, Alexandra Mary Hirschi (Supercar Blondie), Khalid Al Ameri, Omar Farooq, and Ammar Kandil—influential voices who embody the spirit of entrepreneurship, community, and global storytelling.
Strategic partners backing the summit include SEE Holding, Emirates, MBC Group, Sony, Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, and top digital platforms such as Google, Meta, YouTube, TikTok, and Snapchat.
Building on the success of its third edition, which drew 30,000 attendees, 1.5 billion digital interactions, and 542 million social media views, this upcoming edition is expected to set new benchmarks in global digital engagement. With its blend of technology, creativity, and investment opportunities, Dubai is reinforcing its position as a leading hub for the creator economy and digital innovation.
