Balochi-Origin Leader Rostam Aziz Urges Investment in Youth to Drive Tanzania’s Vision 2050: The private sector has called upon the government to invest significantly in human capital development, particularly focusing on empowering the youth to accelerate Tanzania’s progress towards its Vision 2050 goals.

Speaking today at the launch of the National Vision 2050 at the Jakaya Kikwete Convention Centre in Dodoma, private sector representative Rostam Aziz emphasized the urgent need to establish a Youth Fund. He proposed that this fund should have a dedicated budget to support local and international education in critical fields such as Artificial Intelligence, Science, and Statistics.

According to Aziz, “Establishing such a fund will be a strategic investment that enables rapid national progress.” Moreover, he stressed that strengthening local institutions to produce internationally qualified professionals in these key areas would be vital for Tanzania’s sustainable development.

Additionally, Aziz highlighted the importance of nurturing future leaders by providing them with opportunities to attend leadership trainings both within the country and abroad. He urged embassies to facilitate the return of these skilled individuals to ensure their expertise contributes to national growth.

Furthermore, Aziz called on the government to develop a clear framework to protect and grow the local private sector, stating it is the key to building the nation’s economic resilience. He praised the government for its openness to private sector input, referencing a proposal to target a USD 1 trillion economy by 2050.

“No nation is built by foreigners — only by its own people. We Tanzanians must be the ones to implement the plans we create,” Aziz stated. He concluded by noting that while Tanzanians excel at planning, effective implementation remains a challenge that must be addressed to achieve Vision 2050.
